Sitting at work today (Tuesday) I read an article about an ex-soldier called David Bradley who had a history of mental health problems. He apparently shot four members of his own family before handing himself, and his guns, in at the local police station. The article was a one sided account of a drug crazed menace killing innocent people and angered me so much I was compelled to write the following letter...
Having read your article on the ex-soldier David Bradley, who killed four members of his family in an unprovoked attack (Tuesday 30th January 2007), I am disgusted at the level of sensationalist reporting in the article. The opening paragraph states categorically that cannabis was directly responsible for this man's actions, when in fact he had been mentally ill for nearly a decade and had refused treatment for depression on a number of cases.

'"Imangine that on 9/11, six hours after the assault on the twin towers and the Pentagon, terrorists had carried out a second wave of attacks on the United States, taking an additional 3,000 lives. Imagine that six hours after that, there had been yet another wave. Now imagine that the attacks had continued, every six hours, for another four years, until nearly 20 million Americans were dead. This is roughly what the Soviet Union suffered during World War II, and contemplating these numbers may help put in perspective what the United States has so far experienced during the war against terrorism.' '"One relief to getting older,'' wrote Norman Mailer four years ago, just as he was about to turn 80, "is that I no longer have to square my shoulders every time I go into a bar.'' But the old tough guy might want to warm up the pugilistic muscles as he faces the reading public with his new novel, The Castle In The Forest. It's about the boyhood of Adolf Hitler.' 'Scientists are conducting experiments to change the sexuality of “gay” sheep in a programme that critics fear could pave the way for breeding out homosexuality in humans.
'The technique being developed by American researchers adjusts the hormonal balance in the brains of homosexual rams so that they are more inclined to mate with ewes.'
It seems we are coming closer and closer to creating "perfect" human beings. The implications of these experiments are immense and terrifying, if we become able to genetically modify gender and sexuality where will it stop? Will we be able to breed Conservatives, Catholics, morally uncorruptable beings? The mind boggles, read on. (Times Online article). media-underground.net
