Allen Greenfield joins Greg Kaminsky to discuss The Secret Rituals Of The Men In Black, extraterrestrials, and ancient civilizations.
'Dr. Greenfield also describes his workings involving Points Chauds and Scrying the Universe. It is believed that the system employed has its origins in the original teachings developed in remote antiquity and that are passed down today in the form of esoteric order degree initiations. These perhaps seemingly disparate currents of the Points Chauds system, ancient mythology, and Ultraterrestrial contact are woven together in a masterful explanation that is only possible because of Dr. Greenfield’s extensive practical experience of more than forty-five years.' Well, here it is: me being interviewed by Greg Kaminsky on his Occult Of Personality podcast. This is my first ever introduction to podcasting but fortunately for both of us Greg is a good interviewer who had enough questions to ask to keep the discussion going. So here I am talking about stuff I rarely talk about, and sounding very Scottish.
All that aside, Greg's show is awesome. He gets all kinds of guests. So once you get fed up listening to me, go check out his archive.
Greg has also written a very positive review of my The Probationer's Handbook which I'd like to thank him for:
'Having read this book, it is recommended to anyone who has a desire to practice Magick in this system. The selected material and it’s composition is excellent. George’s commentary is both accurate and helpful, notably his descriptions and methods for working through difficult periods of study and practice. This is something that is extremely valuable in a practical sense. A truly effective instructional manual that was previously only available in very limited private release, this work is a worthwhile addition for those aspiring to practice in a Thelemic tradition.'
Tune in to hear us discuss Magick, Thelema, the AL II 76 cipher, UFOs, media and much, much more. (Occult Of Personality podcast). media-underground.net

Adam is joined by Allen Greenfield and Andy Colvil for a fascinating discussion on the Mothman.
'Mothman is the name given to a strange creature reported in the Charleston and Point Pleasant areas of West Virginia between November 1966 and December 1967. The creature was sporadically reported to be seen before and after those dates, with some sightings as recent as September of 2007. Most observers describe the Mothman as a winged man-sized creature with large reflective red eyes and large moth like wings. It often appeared to have no head, with its eyes set into its chest. A number of hypotheses have been presented to explain eyewitness accounts, ranging from misidentification and coincidence to paranormal phenomena and conspiracy theories.' Lovecraft’s work has inspired incredible creative energy over time, including artwork and grimoires. (Occult Of Personality podcast). media-underground.net

'The fight began as I explained my hypothesis about 2012, noting aspects of our current world that are unsustainable and will have to change drastically if we are going thrive, or even survive, as a species. I found that Strieber kept harping on the negative aspects of the situation, proclaiming that the Internet was about to be overtaken by corporate interests, and so on. He also stated that there was going to be a huge "die-off" of the human species in the immediate future. He reiterated that this was "definitely going to happen," and that he "believed" it.
'I argued that nobody knows what is going to happen in the future, that at the moment the earth is managing to support the human population, and if we utilized our resources better, incorporating new techniques and alternative energy technologies, we might not have to experience a massive, traumatic die off at all. Strieber continued to assert that this "die-off" was a fact that he had done "the math," and there was no way around it. As far as I know, Strieber is not trained as an evolutionary biologist, and even if he was, experts are continually proven wrong. Personally, I have experienced a series of miracles in my life, beginning with the improbable fact of my birth into this body with 100 trillion cells and as many synaptic connections as there are stars in the universe, so I stick by the perspective that anything is possible. This seems the most accurate position one can hold.' (Penguin weblog & Dreamland audio stream). media-underground.net

'Clinton, MA-based artist, architect and polymath, Paul Laffoley has spent the better part of the last 40 years constructing hyper-left-brained reality schematics in almost total obscurity.

'This week the Vikings investigate the strange "aerial drones" that have been reported appearing over the state of California. These strange little bastards not only look believable and have a solid, convincing tale spun to support their existence and some of the clearest photos ever taken of an alleged UFO, but have stirred the collective internet pot with tomes of speculation as to it's existence and, should it be a hoax, how they might be made. Regardless of it's presumed truthiness this is a truly fascinating story to be told. Combining sigilization, Paul Laffoley-styled post-physics, and a hell of a collection of documents to support the fascinating claims, if this is a hoax it's the best hoax ever created, if it's not isn't it odd that our initial response to this and any aspect of the numinous these days is to presume it must be part of some cynical marketing campaign. what does that say about our species?' In honour of Douglas' memory, Biota.org presents the transcript and audio of his speech at Digital Biota 2, held at Magdelene College Cambridge, in September 1998.
'Where does the idea of God come from? Well, I think we have a very skewed point of view on an awful lot of things, but let's try and see where our point of view comes from. Imagine early man. Early man is, like everything else, an evolved creature and he finds himself in a world that he's begun to take a little charge of; he's begun to be a tool-maker, a changer of his environment with the tools that he's made and he makes tools, when he does, in order to make changes in his environment. To give an example of the way man operates compared to other animals, consider speciation, which, as we know, tends to occur when a small group of animals gets separated from the rest of the herd by some geological upheaval, population pressure, food shortage or whatever and finds itself in a new environment with maybe something different going on. Take a very simple example; maybe a bunch of animals suddenly finds itself in a place where the weather is rather colder. We know that in a few generations those genes which favour a thicker coat will have come to the fore and we'll come and we'll find that the animals have now got thicker coats. Early man, who's a tool maker, doesn't have to do this: he can inhabit an extraordinarily wide range of habitats on earth, from tundra to the Gobi Desert - he even manages to live in New York for heaven's sake - and the reason is that when he arrives in a new environment he doesn't have to wait for several generations; if he arrives in a colder environment and sees an animal that has those genes which favour a thicker coat, he says “I'll have it off him”. Tools have enabled us to think intentionally, to make things and to do things to create a world that fits us better. Now imagine an early man surveying his surroundings at the end of a happy day's tool making. He looks around and he sees a world which pleases him mightily: behind him are mountains with caves in - mountains are great because you can go and hide in the caves and you are out of the rain and the bears can't get you; in front of him there's the forest - it's got nuts and berries and delicious food; there's a stream going by, which is full of water - water's delicious to drink, you can float your boats in it and do all sorts of stuff with it; here's cousin Ug and he's caught a mammoth - mammoth's are great, you can eat them, you can wear their coats, you can use their bones to create weapons to catch other mammoths. I mean this is a great world, it's fantastic. But our early man has a moment to reflect and he thinks to himself, 'well, this is an interesting world that I find myself in' and then he asks himself a very treacherous question, a question which is totally meaningless and fallacious, but only comes about because of the nature of the sort of person he is, the sort of person he has evolved into and the sort of person who has thrived because he thinks this particular way. Man the maker looks at his world and says 'So who made this then?' Who made this? - you can see why it's a treacherous question. Early man thinks, 'Well, because there's only one sort of being I know about who makes things, whoever made all this must therefore be a much bigger, much more powerful and necessarily invisible, one of me and because I tend to be the strong one who does all the stuff, he's probably male'. And so we have the idea of a god. Then, because when we make things we do it with the intention of doing something with them, early man asks himself , 'If he made it, what did he make it for?' Now the real trap springs, because early man is thinking, 'This world fits me very well. Here are all these things that support me and feed me and look after me; yes, this world fits me nicely' and he reaches the inescapable conclusion that whoever made it, made it for him.' 'In a shocking development, there are loads of witnesses according to the Chicago Tribune. "I tend to be scientific by nature, and I don't understand why aliens would hover over a busy airport," said a United mechanic who was in the cockpit of a Boeing 777 that he was taxiing to a maintenance hangar when he observed the metallic-looking object above Gate C17.
'"But I know that what I saw and what a lot of other people saw stood out very clearly, and it definitely was not an [Earth] aircraft," the mechanic said.
'One United employee appeared emotionally shaken by the sighting and "experienced some religious issues" over it, one co-worker said.
'Another said, "I stood outside in the gate area not knowing what to think, just trying to figure out what it was," he said. "I knew no one would make a false call like that.
